Terms of Service

These Terms of Service (the "Terms") govern use of Lisna (the "Service"). By using the Service you are deemed to have agreed to these Terms.

Article 1 (Purpose)

The Service is a tool that captures audio and visual information from videos you are watching and uses AI to summarize and structure it, supporting your learning and work.

Article 2 (User responsibilities)

You are responsible for confirming and complying with:

  1. The terms of service and codes of conduct of your institution (university, employer, etc.)
  2. The terms of service of the content you watch
  3. Copyright law and other applicable laws

You bear sole responsibility for any consequences arising from violations of the above.

Article 3 (Prohibited conduct)

  1. Infringing the rights of third parties
  2. Reselling or redistributing the Service for commercial purposes
  3. Interfering with the operation of the Service
  4. Disrupting the Service through excessive requests

Article 4 (Disclaimer)

The operator assumes no liability for any dispute or damage arising from use of the Service. We do not guarantee the accuracy of AI-generated summaries.

Article 5 (Account suspension)

The operator reserves the right to suspend your account without notice if we reasonably determine that the Service is being used in violation of law, institutional policy, or in a manner that constitutes excessive use.

Article 6 (Changes to these Terms)

The operator may modify these Terms as necessary. Updated terms will be announced on this page.

v2 (desktop app)

Article 8 (On-device processing)

The Lisna desktop application performs audio processing, transcription, and note generation entirely on the user's device. In normal operation, audio, transcripts, and generated notes are NOT sent to Lisna's servers or any third-party data processor.

Article 9 (Account scope)

Information stored on the Lisna backend is limited to email address, sign-in metadata (provider, timestamps, etc.), device identifier, and account settings. Recording content, transcripts, generated notes, and any other content derived from user recordings are not stored on the Lisna backend.

Article 10 (Open-source models)

On first launch, Lisna distributes Whisper (MIT License) and Llama 3.2 (Meta Llama 3.2 Community License Agreement) bundled with the application. By using the application you are deemed to have agreed to the terms of those licenses. The bundled model files run unmodified.
